“…Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests…” Ephesians 6:18

  • Do you need prayer for yourself or someone you know?
  • Are you unsure about what words to use?

If so, feel free to pray one or more of the prayers found below. You are welcome to change the words to personalize the prayer or just keep it the way it is. Prayers don’t have to contain fancy words. Prayer is just a heart felt talk between you and God.

 A prayer for those
who are weary

Dear Lord, I’m tired. I’m being pulled in so many directions all at once. Lord, please guide me and renew me and help me to stay focused on You. In Jesus name,

Amen.

 A prayer for those

who feel weak

Dear Lord, I feel weak as I stand in faith. So Lord, once again I use Your words from Ephesians:”Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Clothe me with Your armor. Give me strength for today. Thank you, Jesus!!

Amen.

A prayer for those

who feel unwanted, forgotten, unloved, and unlovely

Dear Lord, I lift up to you those who feel unwanted, forgotten, unloved, and unlovely. I pray that you will connect them with someone who loves You and knows Your grace and mercy and patience so that these people in need can be filled with Your love, strength, courage, guidance and joy. I pray that these people in need will come to understand that You want them, You have not forgotten them, You love them, and You think that they are indeed lovely. In Jesus name,

Amen.

 A praise

Thank you Lord for all that you do, for all that you are, for all that you’ve made, for all that is yet to come. You are mighty! You are worthy!

Amen.

A prayer for those

 angry with God:

Dear Lord, there are people I know who are angry with You because of their circumstances. I pray that You will change their hearts. I pray that You will fill them with Your love and peace that passes understanding. I pray that they will find their way into a Bible Believing Church this week and continue to attend it each week after. I pray that their eyes and ears and hearts will be opened to You so that they understand that You are not the enemy but the strength that they need to endure their circumstances. Thank you, Jesus!

Amen.

 A prayer for those

of us having a hard day

Dear Lord, some days are harder than others when smiles and laughter are difficult and tears come too easily. I pray that You will help me feel Your joy, love, peace, comfort, and strength. I love You, Jesus.

Amen.

A prayer for those of us

who lose focus

Dear Lord, I worship You, I read Your Word, I pray to You, I listen to Your Word, and I fellowship with Your children. I feel Your joy and am at peace. And then for various reasons, I drift away from You and I become miserable. Dear Lord, please guide me back to You. Please help me to keep my focus on You first and foremost for the rest of my days. I love You, Jesus!

Amen.

A prayer for preparing for “battle”

Dear Lord, I can feel and hear the rumblings of “battle” getting closer. So Lord, once again I use Your words from Ephesians: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Prepare me for what ever lies ahead of me. Thank you, Jesus!!

Amen.

 A prayer for guidance

Dear Lord, when things happen and I just don’t know what to do, please guide me with Your wisdom. Help me to know when to give mercy, grace and love. Also, help me to know when to be angry. I love You, Jesus.

Amen.

A prayer for being around people who are different

Dear Lord, I have to interact with so many people everyday. Many of these people say things differently than I do, do things differently than I do and think things differently than I do. It’s so hard for me to be around people who are different. I get uncomfortable in their presence and sometimes even angry at their differences. Dear Lord, please fill me with Your peace and comfort so that when I am around people who are different than me that I can show them grace and love instead of hostility. Dear Lord, please guide me so that I bring You honor and glory in all that I do and say and think. In Jesus name,
Amen.

A prayer for those of us
who “miss the mark”

Dear Lord, please forgive me for missing the mark. I keep falling short and making mistakes. Please fill me to overflowing with Your love and guide me so that I can follow Your path.
Amen.

A prayer for those of us
 needing direction

Dear Lord, You are the creator of heaven and earth and me. You have great plans for me. Am I doing the job that You want me to be doing? If not, what should I do? How can I use my gifts and talents to serve You and bring You honor and glory? Jesus, please show me which path to take and if possible can You just shove me through the door You have opened for me so that I know I’m going in the right direction? I love You, Jesus. Thank you!
Amen.

A prayer for those of us
who are stressed

Dear Lord, I feel like I’m going to explode from stress! So many things are going on – things that I’m doing and thinking and planning, things that other people are doing and saying around me. It’s too much! I need a break! Dear Lord, please fill me to overflowing with your peace that passes understanding, with your grace and with your unending love. Thank you, Jesus, for loving your child.
Amen.

A prayer for those of us
having trouble getting things done

Dear Lord, I need Your help. I am having an internal struggle within myself. Part of me wants to accomplish a bunch of stuff today, but another part of me is rebeling and convincing me not to do anything today. Please forgive me for my weaknesses. I pray that You will give me the desire to actually want to do something today. I pray that You will guide my hands and feet today so that I can be productive. I love You, Jesus! Thank you for caring about Your child.
Amen.

A prayer for those of us
who are scared

Oh, Lord. I am so scared. Please help me. Please give me strength and courage and guidance. I love You, Jesus.
Amen.

A prayer for those of us
caring for older family members

Dear Lord, I am greatly concerned about my older family members. They used to be so active and vibrant, but now their bodies and minds are failing them. They want to live independent lives, but it’s becoming less and less safe for them to do so. They aren’t able to care for themselves properly. I am scared for their safety. Forgive me for being so sad and depressed about this. Lord, I lift my hands to You in grief. I live to bring You honor and glory in all that I say and do and think. What should I do? Where should they live? Who should care for them? God, You are my protector. I trust that You will protect me. I pray that You will protect them also. I pray that You will guide their situation. I love You, Jesus!
Amen.

A prayer for those of us who are frustrated with their job

Dear Lord, I am struggling with my job. I am not happy. I want to be productive. I want to use my talents. I watch as others are given opportunities to shine instead of me. Forgive me for being so angry and jealous. Lord, what should I do? I have responsibilities at home. I have bills to pay. If I leave this job, how do I know if things will be any better? How do I know if I’ll even be able to find a job at all? Should I just stay where I am? I love You, Jesus. I want to bring You honor and glory in all that I do and say and think. Please guide me. Please give me comfort and peace as I wait. Oh, it’s so hard to wait. You are Jehovah Jireh. You are my provider. I believe that You will take care of me. Amen.

A prayer for those of us who feel like we are under siege

Dear Lord, sometimes I feel as if I am under attack from every direction. I can’t take anymore. I’m breaking, Lord. I lift my arms to You and cry out for mercy and grace and guidance and forgiveness. Lord, Your word in Ephesians speaks of the armor of God: “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. I love You, Lord. I give my struggles over to You. Take them from me. Give me peace that passes understanding. Thank you, Jesus!! Amen.

 A prayer for those
 struggling with change:

Dear Lord, Please help me to face the future. So many things are changing in my life right now. Some things I knew were going to happen. Other things are a surprise to me. I am scared. Will I be able to handle the changes? I pray that You give me the courage and strength to continue on with all that you have planned for me. I pray that You never leave my side. I love You, Lord. Amen.

A prayer for those of us
who are quick to speak:

Dear Lord, I live to bring You honor and glory in all that I do and think and say. But so often I fall short and I speak things that would be better left unsaid because my words hurt others. Dear Lord, please forgive my words and please forgive those who turn around and hurt me in response. Please fill me to overflowing with Your love and peace and take away the pain. You are my Lord and I am Yours.
Amen.

 A prayer for those

who are alone

O God, may those who feel the pain of loneliness know that your love is always with them. Amen.

Amen.
